![]() Trans man Maledict, who told himself he was just doing it because boys have it easier, even as his words rang hollow to himself, who outed himself in a gesture of solidarity but always regretted it, but didn’t even begin to have the context to understand his thoughts so he joined Polly in serving his country and told himself well maybe it was easier being a boy but if I do this I can make it easier for a lot of girls to be girls and any time he caught himself thinking longingly for a pair of socks he reminded himself why he was doing it and pretended it was good enough terry pratchett I will die for trans maledict voltron trans headcanons canon trans character *maladict discworld John Nobbs but sometimes, when everything gets to be a bit heavy, Beti sneaks out, and he (sometimes she) tells herself that it’s just a bit of fun, just for the traffic enforcement, just for the disguise, just for Trans man Pidge who admitted to being a girl because his male identity was starting to feel a little too natural, because it felt to real and it was hard to even think of himself as Katie anymore, but you are Katie, you’re a girl, you’re your father’s daughter and your brother’s sister, who do you want to find them, Katie or some boy they don’t know, you’re a girl, you’re a girl, you’reĭemiwoman Nobby Nobbs, who is mostly content being Cecil Wormsborough St. Trans woman Jaune, who bucks at the word damsel because her subconscious is whispering girl, who wants to be a hero because if she’s a hero that’ll shut up that voice, because everyone knows heroes are boys, everyone knows, everyone knows, if she can just be a hero, why did I buy the dress? ![]() But he’s got wide hips and big boobs and a high voice and he’ll never, ever be thought of as a guy and he knows it so he clings to girl and tells himself it’s just the chromosomes talking and whispers Kaikaina to his empty room and then shuts that away and pretends he never even thought it Trans man Kai, born intersex and assigned female but he sometimes thinks they chose wrong. He never quite put a word on that feeling of wrong that accompanied his name or any feminine honorifics so he can’t say why he hates it so much when Doyle calls him “Miss” and “Vanessa” ( it’s disrespectful, of course, he’s just undermining me, he’s ignoring my rank, it’s nothing, he’s nothing, and anyway, it doesn’t matter) Trans man Kimball, who was young when the war broke out so any questioning of his gender always got shoved to the wayside and summarily ignored, until he became general and never had time to be anything else (and anyway, he said, when his subconscious screamed loud enough for him to hear, I’m a woman in a high position, if I say I’m male then I’m just letting down the girls, and anyway, it doesn’t matter, and anyway, I have work to do, and anyway, and anyway). ![]() More importantly, he never gives up, and eventually, he even gains a fan or two to cheer him on.I’ve been alone in my head all day so have some trans headcanons He's nice to everyone around him while being a bit too confident but still genuinely cares about the welfare of those in the Underworld. He's definitely annoyed, for sure, and is very sarcastic and cocky, but the Prince of the Underworld is just 100% honest to a fault. Because of this, Zagreus doesn't hold grudges whenever he gets killed. ![]() He is more like Zuko at the end of The Last Airbender, a moody but pretty boy who is very nice to everyone, but can't help but hurt those closest to him by the very nature of his quest. Despite being the son of Hades, Zagreus is nothing like his stern and cold father. Even without dialogue trees or conversations larger than a few seconds, you get a real sense of who these characters are through their interactions with Zagreus. Though this starts out on the sidelines at first - a casual conversation with Achilles at your father's residence reveals he has been training you for a while - these relationships evolve the longer you play, die, come back, and talk to the characters again. Hades very cleverly intertwines gameplay with story by giving you optional conversations with characters who tell you more about your quest and the state of the game's world. The game makes it clear that Zagreus is breaking the very delicate status quo of the Underworld, and it's the job of Megaera and the others to set things back in order. Through dialogue, you get the sense that Zagreus doesn't resent battling his friends, and his friends don't take pleasure in killing him over and over. You see, some of the enemies you face are people Zagreus grew up with and considers his friends, like ex-girlfriend Megaera.
